TIMELINE
- Fall 2019 - Philanthropist Chris Davis gifts 98 acres of land to HVS.
- Fall 2020 - A comprehensive plan is developed for a permanent year-round campus.
- Fall 2020 & Beyond - Stakeholders are engaged and we begin the private phase of fundraising for the ROOTED Campaign.
- Summer 2021 - As one of the few theaters producing outdoors, our 34-year partnership with Boscobel comes to a thrilling close with our final season on the site.
- Fall 2021 – Spring 2023 - Site restoration from manicured golf course to native meadows and rehabilitated wetlands. Storage barns converted into two sun-filled rehearsal studios and a new costume shop.
- Summer 2022 – 2024 – Transitional seasons at our new home using our existing temporary theater tent.
- September 25th, 2024 - Groundbreaking Ceremony featuring New York State Governor Kathy Hochul, where HVS announces the naming of the Samuel H. Scripps Theater Center. This day also marks the beginning of the public phase of the ROOTED Campaign for our new home.
- Fall 2024 - Active Construction begins.
- Spring 2025 – “Hard Hat” tours begin as our new theater comes to fruition.
- Summer 2025 - “Hard Hat” season. While our permanent facilities take shape, we will perform our final repertory season in our existing tent.
- Spring 2026 – Ribbon cutting & Grand Opening.
